Private Ranch Elk, Mule Deer, Archery or Gun Hunts: Guided, Semi-Guided and Land Lease Hunts

Wes Hixon’s Outdoor Adventures has been booking hunts on these ranches for more than 20 years. These private, family-owned ranches total approximately 21,000 acres. Opportunity and hunter success rates on archery and gun hunts normally and consistently run 80% or greater. As a matter of fact, our hunter success rates on 5-point or better Elk has run as good as 23 out of 24 hunters bagging Bull Elk in a season; with the 24th hunter wounding and failing to recover his Bull Elk! Mule Deer hunters that purchase and or draw a license normally enjoy high success on “4×4” or better bucks with spreads averaging 22 to 28 inches; however, on normal years we take between one and four bucks with 30-inch or better spreads. Whether you choose guided, semi-guided or land-lease spreads, every effort is made to make your hunt a memorable experience. This is a great first-time western hunt for an individual, family or group.

Fully-Guided Hunts

On all fully-guided hunts we provide lodging, meals, guides and all transportation in the field. We pack out and transport all game to the packing house and heads to taxidermist. We specialize in these hunts.

Semi-Guided Hunts

Our semi-guided hunts are conducted with 1 guide for each group or property, to point out boundaries, give advice on how to hunt the property and help pack game out when needed. Lodging, meals and a cook are available by special arrangement.

Private Land-Lease Hunts

Another popular option we offer is our land-lease hunts. Hunters are shown ranch boundaries and given advise on game movements and how to best hunt each ranch. Hunters are then responsible for their own hunting activities. Availability on these hunts is very limited due to our annual repeat booking.

Testimonials

  • "Wow what an experience! From the time we arrived the hospitality was second to none. We were also provided with one great meal after another. This was my first elk hunt and I was very impressed by the efforts the guides put forth. We did see an incredible amount of elk and I was fortunate enough to get one. I would highly recommend this trip especially if its your first elk hunt!"

Lodging
