South Island New Zealand

The South Island of New Zealand is renowned for its mountains, lakes and glaciers. The Southern Alps run along the entire length of the Island with natural spectacles like Mount Cook, Fiordland National Park, Milford Sound, Tasman National Park and the famed Queenstown, home to bungee jumping, skiing and jet boating. Save a little time to visit some of the small pubs and enjoy a few of the local beers. “Hey mate, have a DB draft and a burger!” I promise you will remember the warm, friendly people and sharing in the pride they have for their country; long after you remind yourself of the helicopter flights you took into the back country to pristine streams and catching double digit brown trout, or setting the helicopter down on a beautiful mountain top relaxing and having lunch.

Come experience New Zealand with us!

South Island New Zealand

For approximately 3 decades Wes has worked exclusively with Alex and Cheryl Monahan of Doughboy Safaris. Among many other major accomplishments, Alex is a New Zealand Registered Professional Hunting Guide; this is of utmost importance when considering a trip to New Zealand. Wes has hunted and fished with the Monahan’s many times previously on both the North and South Islands; although most of our hunts are conducted on the South Island near the town of Murchison. Free range and estate hunts are available for all big game species hunting in New Zealand with both archery and guns. What’s more, we do not mix safari groups unless friends ask us to do so. When your safari dates are agreed on our calendar is filled. Alex and Cheryl completed the construction of their New Doughboy Valley Safari Lodge in the late 2,000’s. The lodge was built of the highest standards offering private bedrooms with a million dollar view of the surrounding mountains. Just step out of your bedroom and follow the Red Stag’s roaring.
