During the past 21 years, this event has continued to grow annually. Approximately 9 years ago, Sheriff Ray Cross and the Dade County Sheriff’s Office (D.C.S.O.) joined Wes Hixon’s Outdoor Adventures (W.H.O.A.) in hosting this event. Quickly, yet conservatively, these combined efforts have generated much needed funds to assist the Children’s Advocacy Center, Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home, Savannah’s Canopy, Purple Heart Wounded Warriors, Celebrate Recovery Ministries, Major Tommy Bradford’s recovery fund Southeastern Guide Dog School, Georgia Department of Natural Resources and more.

Proceeds from this year’s event went to the Southeastern Guide Dogs Organization (https://www.guidedogs.org/).  Southeastern Guide Dogs Organization provides highly trained service dogs for Veterans with PTSD, hearing, vison, and balance issues. They also provide companion dogs for children with vision loss or other needs, as well as their Gold Star family dogs for children who have lost a parent in the military. Since joining this event, the D.C.S.O. and its police officers have given so freely to make this event safe and successful. We are proud to “BACK THE BLUE”, and “DEFEND NOT DEFUND” our sheriffs’ department. This year’s event will be used to purchase much needed equipment for the D.C.S.O. and support special interest projects in our community!!

All contributions, donations and payments are made to the D.C.S.O. Annual Fundraiser, a 501 C-3 not for profit organization.
